Antonia (Lucero) Benavidez

Antonia “Tia Bene” Lucero Benavidez, peacefully passed away March 21, 2018 after a rich, full life of 93 years. Born August 10, 1924 to Jose Leandro and Predicanda (Ortega) Lucero of Los Ojitos Frios, NM who precede her in death along with siblings, Luis, Antonio, Ruben, Arsenio and Napoleon Lucero and Perfectita Padilla, and great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Atiana. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Luciano Benavidez; children, Luciano Jr., Joe (Betty), Joanna (Ken Scofield), Helen, Leandro (Jane), Chonita (Ruben) Ramos, 9 grandchildren; Jeanne, Jerry Jr., Nicole, Adrianna, Nicholas, Joshua, Vincent, Jessica, and Michael; 7 great grandchildren, Alexandria, Jeremiah, Alyssa, Angelica, Antonio, Annalise, and Joseph, and a sister-in-law, Esther Lucero. Antonia was a devout Catholic and a woman of strong faith. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and Adoration Society for many years. She was married to the love of her life for 70 years and was a dedicated and loving mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and countless extended family members. She welcomed everyone into her home, heart, and kitchen. Rosary Recitation 7 p.m. today, Mass of Resurrection 10 a.m. Monday, both services at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1145 S. Aspen Rd.
