George Brooks Obituary

George Mercer Brooks, 88, passed away Feb. 14, 2018. He was born Jan. 7, 1930 in East Orange, NJ to parents Herman and Bernice (Douglas) Brooks who precede him in death along with his loving wife, Gwendolyn Brooks, daughter, Patricia Brooks, and, brother, Earl Brooks. He served 34 years in the Air Force, with the ranking of Major. He was a registered nurse and served as an Active Duty Flight Nurse 22 years, and served 12 years reserves. His biggest joy was spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory; his children, Venus Yvette Brown, Marian Brooks, and David Brooks; step-children, Kristofer Hutchins, Kevin Hutchins, and Keria Couvillion; grandchildren, L’mont Brooks, Tricia (Jeremy) Allen, LaTida Brooks, and Bryce Brooks; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, James (Paula) Brooks, and Herman Brooks, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 1:30 p.m Wed. Feb. 21, 2018 at Eighth Street Baptisit Church. Military Honors by Pueblo Veteran Ritual Team.
