Joseph "Pipes" Vidana

July 28, 1926 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Joseph "Pipes" Vidana, 91, released his spirit on 9 Jan. 2018. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, 15 Jan. 2018, at Angelus Chapel; Pastor Anthony Garcia of Full Gospel Christian Assembly will officiate. Interment will follow the funeral service at Roselawn Cemetery, military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. Joe was born in Pueblo, Colo., on 28 July 1926. He was a U.S. WWII veteran. Joe was married to Florence Vidana in civil matrimony on 27 Dec. 1948, and in holy matrimony on 8 July 1950; they were married for 69 years. Joe's life will continue to be cherished in the lives of his children: Marlene (James) Garcia, Shirley Vidana-Ortiz, Verna Vidana, Kelly (Kelli) Vidana, Randy (Lisa) Vidana, Shayla (Matt) Ruggier; his 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Candalaria Acosta; parents, Jose and Lupe Vidana; sister, Vera Martinez; brothers, Frank and Louis Vidana; uncle, Albert and aunt, Elsie Acosta; as well as other uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces; and the rest of his relatives and friends. Joe was a sports enthusiast, especially of baseball. He played and coached baseball in Pueblo for many years. He played semi-professional baseball with the St. Joseph Cubs and Jones Mortuary teams; including several elite baseball teams in the Pueblo area. He loved time spent with all his grandchildren and loved watching them grow to adulthood. Pipes would hope that you do a random act of kindness for someone down-and-out or an unfortunate soul, in his name. Thank you to Dr. Michael Barris for all the care given
