Martin A. Ortega

Martin A. Ortega, 98, passed away Feb. 28, 2018 with his family at his bedside. He was born November 11, 1919 in Pachuca Hugo, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his wife Lydia L. Ortega; daughter, Gloria Valdez, and grandchildren, Paul Valdez, and Rachel Rose Sierra. He retired from Colorado State Hospital with 25 years of service. He enjoyed working on his yard, planting his garden, and visiting with neighbors. He loved fishing and being with his family. Martin is survived by his children; Lupe (John) Sierra, Theresa (Joe) Sierra, Rose (Mauro) Ultreras, Josie (Manuel) Avalos, and Jenny (Anthony) Montoya; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, who loved him and will miss him dearly. Special thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Claudine for the great care you gave to our father. Memorial Service 11a.m. Tuesday, Angelus Chapel. Family will receive friends at the Zaragoza Hall, following the service.
