Yvonne Maldonado (Romero-Trujillo), 64, of Pueblo, passed away on February 23, 2018, after a long battle with Hepatitis C and liver disease. She was born October 17, 1953 in Fowler, CO, to Joe Romero and Dorothy Algien who precede her in death, as well as her sister Karen Romero-Lucero, grandparents and other relatives. Yvonne served the community of St. Joseph Church for the majority of her life, volunteering at an early age, then serving as the office manager for 25 years before leaving for health reasons. She continued to volunteer at the annual festival and in the food pantry following her departure, was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, and was very devoted to her faith. Yvonne graduated from Centennial High School in 1971 and looked forward to attending the annual Bell Game every year, enjoyed Mexican telenovelas, Law and Order, puzzle books and gossip magazines, and she beamed with pride over her two sons. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Jeff Trujillo (Brian Niemeyer), Steven Trujillo (Jovana Martinez), Grandson Yadien Trujillo, brothers and sisters Gary (Becky) Romero, Samuel (Norma) Romero, Leonard (Cecilia) Romero, Kenneth Romero, Sandra Romero, Ronald Romero, Fr. Michael Romero, Richard (JoAnn) Romero, Lynette Romero, and James (Betty) Romero, special cousin Valerie Montez, the father of her children Dan Trujillo, numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Memorial mass will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph church. Attendees are requested to wear something purple in honor of Yvonne.
