Alice Fierro, 94, passed away Jan. 28, 2018. A lifetime Puebloan she was born June 21, 1923 to Julian and Francisca Gallegos who precede her in death along with her husband Joseph R. Hernandez; sons, Robert and Timothy Hernandez; siblings, Lupe Santos, Mike Gallegos, Phillip (Antonia) Gallegos, Salvador Gallegos, Julian Gallegos, and Ray Gallegos; son-in-law, Joe Santos; daughter-in-law, Georgina “Pinky” Hernandez; brother-in-law, William Martinez. Alice retired from Pueblo School District 60, and continued to volunteer following her retirement. She was involved with the Daughters of Isabella, Alter Society of St. Francis and America Latino Club. She enjoyed going to Cripple Creek, and loved spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Frances Santos, Joseph (Peggy) Hernandez, Phillip Hernandez, Ruth (Art) Perez, Belinda (Vick) Lopez, Roberta (Ray) Herrera; sister, Maria Martinez; sister-in-law’s, Hilda Gallegos, Rose Gallegos, Petra Gallegos, and Maria Gallegos; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. Rosary 9:30am Thursday Feb. 1, 2018 with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. both at St. Francis Xavier Church.
