Arthur Jose Romero

Arthur Jose Romero, 91, passed away April 30, 2019 at his home. He was born in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Jeronimo E. and Virginia (Maes) Romero both preceded him in death along, with former wife, Cordelia Romero, his children, Arthur Romero Jr. and Beverly Romero; siblings, Clara Sandoval, Tony Romero, Ted Romero, Aurilia Duran, Della Taylor, Robert Romero, Mary Jane Pagan and Beatrice Romero; granddaughter, Morningstar Galves; great grandson, Arturo Ortega; He served in the U.S Army, where he earned a WWII Victory Medal, Army Occupational Medal Japan. Arthur retired from CF&I, Round Castor Department with 39 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, rabbit and deer hunting, watching and cheering on the Denver Broncos. Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Valverde; stepchildren, Sylvia (Dave), Janet (Andy), Basil (Brenda), Joseph (Janey), Toby (Trudi), Tina (Charles); siblings, Maria "Trini" Montana, Jeronimo (Sally) Romero, Ray (Mary) Romero; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends who loved and will miss him dearly. Special thanks to Suncrest Hospice Care Team for the care of Arthur. Funeral Mass 10 a.m Monday May 6, 2019. St. Francis Xavier Church, 611 Logan with Military Honors by Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. Interment Trujillo Creek Cemetery, Aguilar, Colorado.
