Bernabe "Bernie" Torres, 62, passed away Dec. 5, 2019. A lifetime Pueblo-an, he was born Feb. 15, 1957 to Onesimo and Maria (Lucero) Torres who preceded him in death along with siblings, Avalynn, Charlie and Paul; brother-in-law, Don Vest. He was a 1975 graduate of Centennial High School. He then attended Trinidad State Junior College and obtained a teaching certificate from USC. He taught at Baca Elementary and worked for Convergys telemarketing for many years. He loved to write and was the editor of the newsletter at Minnequa Medical Center. He enjoyed country music, reading, photography and visiting different places in Colorado. He also was an avid Broncos fan. Bernie leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Rosemarie Vest; children, David (Theresa) Vigil, Thomas Buckingham, Timothy Miller, Michael Trujillo, Taylor Martinez, Angie Renee Trujillo, Randy Trujillo; grandchildren, Ashley Alania, Mathew Gerard, Adam James, Andrew Martinez; uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Special thank you to Minnequa Medical Center, Penrose St. Francis and Memorial Hospital. Graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain View Cemetery, Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun, officiating.
