Charles "Chuck" Becker, 74 , passed away on August 2, 2018 at his home in Pueblo, CO. He was born March 27, 1944 in Caledonia to Raphael and Cora (Thomson) Becker who precede him in death along with his beloved wife Ann; brother Jerry, and nephew Waylon.
A 1966 alumnus of Winona State University, earned his Bachelors. He worked as a manager for Greyhound Food Management in Wyoming beginning in 1977. July 16, 1983 Chuck married Ann Buchanan (Aker) in Las Vegas. They were great animal lovers and always had pets in their home. In 1985 he became a faculty member at Pueblo Community College.Teaching in the hospitality and culinary arts department, he retired in 2014 as an Adult Education Educator. A recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, and recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for his dedication, achievement and leadership in Culinary Education. He appeared in numerous volumes of Who’s Who in America including the 26th edition. He was honored with membership in the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and held a seat with its committee for examinator excellence since 2006.
He dedicated his latter professional years to passing on his experience as a certified food management professional, and was a certified exam writer and reviewer. He was a volunteer for the Boys and Girls Club and the Democratic Party. He valued the strong family support he had from his mother and aunt who were both teachers.
Chuck is survived by siblings, Jim (Peggy) of LaCrosse, WI, Judi Becker of Winona, MN, Eric (Marie) of Egg Harbor, WI; nieces, nephews, cousins; friends, Tom, Patty, Clare and Leroy to include special friend and caregiver Tony Herrera, Rosemary and Mary.
