Fares Anselmo Vigil, 95, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018 with his daughter Bernadette by his bedside. He was born January 5, 1923 in Costilla, New Mexico to the union of Elizardo and Sinforosa (Cordova) Vigil who both precede him in death along with his wife, Enedina Maria Vigil; son, Fred Vigil; daughter, Theresa Benavidez; siblings, Felix, Floyd and Paul. Fares was a World War II Veteran, receiving many ribbons and metals. He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot Painting Department with 30 years of service and 25 years of service with City Parks Recreation Department. He enjoyed being with his family, raising them in Avondale, Colorado, enjoyed going on outings, hunting and fishing. He loved his care takers and his two pets. Fares had the best smile, everyone complimented his hair, not one spot of gray! He was very loving and giving but most of all he loved his family, Jesus and he had a strong faith. Special thanks to Complete Home Health Care staff, Fresenius Dialysis Center staffing and Suncrest Hospice staff; Special Granddaughter Melissa and Special Nurse Naomi, for your loving care and dedication to him. Fares leaves behind to cherish his memory; children, Andy (Lisa) Vigil, Arthur (Darlene) Vigil, Maryann (Praxie) Vigil, Chris (Jackie) Vigil, Bernadette (Mike) Rodriguez; special grandson, Dale (Brena) Vigil; siblings, Dennis (Henrietta), Gustavo (Beatrice) Vigil, Bertha Vigil, Priscilla Hernandez, Marylou (Dave) Speer, Victoria Gaillour, Elisa (Robert) Fernandez; 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Who loved him dearly. Rosary 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow Tuesday November 20, 2018 both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Avondale. Interment St. Vrain Cemetery.
