Frederick E. Trujillo, 95, affectionately known as "Floppy" to family and friends, passed away July 22, 2019. He was born January 14, 1924 in Walsenburg, CO. to Salvador and Irene Trujillo both precede him in death along with his loving wife of 64 years, Irene (Martinez) Trujillo, brother, Tim (Micky) Trujillo and grandson, Tommy Cabello. Frederick served in the United States Navy, Pearl Harbor and was a World War II Veteran, he received the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal - 4 Stars, the Philippines Liberation Medal - 2 stars, the American Area Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He retired as a mechanic from the Pueblo Army Depot with 32 years of service. Frederick enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his buddies. In his younger years, he played in the Fastpitch Softball Catholic Church League, as a pitcher for Holy Family Church. He loved the Nuggets, Rockies, Broncos and Avalanche sports teams, but his favorite team was Pueblo's own Hellbeck Stallions. On June 29, 2019, the County Commissioners, proclaimed Frederick E. "Floppy" Trujillo Day in Huerfano County, Colorado. Floppy is survived by his children, Fred (Vivian) Trujillo, Theresa (Tom) Cabello, Michael (Julie) Trujillo and Lauri (Bobby); grandchildren, Tim, Kari (Kevin) and Tonya (Bo); one great grandchild, Gabriela; sister, Frances "Dolly" Bellah; in-laws, Maxine (Larry) Simon, Gloria (George) Washburn, Leroy (Josephine) Martinez , Marylou (George) Martinez and Mary (Art) Martinez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
