Henry Leopoldo Montoya, 87, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2018. He was born August 3, 1931 in Colmer, New Mexico to the union of Eusebio Montoya and Mary Andronica (Sanchez) Montoya, who both precede him in death alnog with his wife, Mary “Erlinda” Montoya; son, Frank; grandchildren, Ruben Ortiviz, Angel and Marlina Montoya; three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Ezekiel and Evangelina Ortiviz; several siblings and in laws. Henry was a decorated Korean War (Army) Veteran, one of the original founding members of the Pueblo Ritual Team, Knights of Columbus #4844, American GI Forum, DAV & VFW. He was an avid boxing fan and former Army boxing champion. He enjoyed going to Cripple Creek with his Linda, leading the wedding march with Linda, attending daily mass and praying the Rosary. Above all Henry enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his children, Valerie Montoya, Susan (Tom) Guerra, Jose (Debbie) Montoya and Michael (Sandra) Montoya; siblings. Aurora Santos, Edna Jean (Cooper) Valdez and Rose Pillot, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Special thanks VA, Sangre de Cristo Hospice Team and Melanie Marvin, CNA.
