Joan K. Vukelich

Joan K. Vukelich, 79, on the morning of July 23, 2019 our mother Joan "Joanne" Katherine Vukelich passed away peacefully in the morning sun. 

Joan "Joanne" was born to Connie and Steve Vukelich on March 23, 1940. She was married in 1961 to Lawrence Rodriguez Sr., together they had two children, Jeanette "Nette" and Lawrence "Rence". She spent the majority of her working career, 23 years, caring for individuals with mental health issues. She was dedicated to her profession and cared deeply for the individuals she served. 

Joan "Joanne" was an avid reader, loved to crochet, watch "old" movies and listen to music. (Elvis, George Jones, Patsy Cline and Snoop Dog were her favorites.) She spent countless hours outdoors, visiting with friends and family members. Joanne never met a stranger.

One of her greatest pleasures in life was spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was in person, on the telephone or on the internet. 
Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Steven "Chops" and Consuelo "Connie" Vukelich; brothers, Stephen Vukelich, Robert "Boots" Vukelich; sisters, Consuelo "Aunt Terri" Sanchez, Rachel Montez, Margie Rodriguez and granddaughter Desiree "Deshaway" Rodriguez.

Survived by son, Lawrence (Stacy) Rodriguez Jr., daughter, Jeanette Rodriguez; brother, Ronnie Vukelich; granddaughter/daughter, Jennifer Rodriguez; granddaughter, Sydney Stratman; great granddaughters, Destinee, Desire and Diamond Rowe; great-great grandsons, Legend and baby Morris; special lifetime friend and forever sister at heart Dolly Ulibarri; special nieces, Cathy (Gary) Massaro, Sharleen, Lamaak and Michelle Rodriguez; along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
