Royal Nicholas, 87, affectionately known as “Bones”, passed away Oct. 21, 2018. He was born Nov. 25, 1931 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Silverran and Kitty Nicholas who precede him in death along with loving wife of 42 years Irene (Hawkins) Nicholas, daughter, Michelle Nicholas Massenburg; great-grandson, Elijah Hagger; siblings, William, Ivory, and Ida Nicholas; mother-in-law, Irene Hawkins; sister-in-law, Shirley Green. He retired from the CF& I, in the wire mill dept. with 42 years of service. He was a funeral director for the Angelus Chapel for 17 years. He enjoyed family reunions, gambling, to BBQ, to travel, and to work on his house. He was a great dancer, and could two- step around anyone. He was a Master Mason. You always knew when he was coming when you heard the taps on his shoes. Above all he loved his time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory; children, Royal Nicholas Jr. and Lisa Nicholas, grandchildren; Troy (Theresa), Rashad, Taquan, Tyshawn, Tajah, Maurice, and Trelynn; great-grandchildren, Ny-ana, Zayden, E-marii, En-vyus, Kaine, Dorriean; great- grandson on the way, Royal Wayne; son-in-law, Peter Massenburg; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hampton; niece, Amy Riggins; best friend who he considered his brother, Arthur Yarbrough Sr.; other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Friday, Nov 3, 2018, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery
