Selsa Gutierrez

Selsa Gutierrez 85, passed away April 22, 2019. She was July 28, 1933 in La junta, Colorado, to proud parents Alejandro and Cerilia (Mendoza) Torres both precede her in death along with her husband Joe Manuel Gutierrez; siblings, Alejandro, Richard (Della), Adolph (Sylvia), Guadalupe (Trinidad), Manuel (Margaret), Louie (Joyce) Torres, Nellie (Alejandro) Esquibel, Rosa Torres and Antonia (Carlos) Manzano. She served in the Women Army Corp. from 1954 thru 1956. She retired from the Colorado State Hospital with 32 years of services as a Psych Tech- LPN. Selsa enjoyed crafts, going out to eat, and shopping. She had a very large collection of Purses. Family was such an integral part of her life. She loved family gatherings, and was very strong in her faith and instilled that into her children. Selsa is survived by her children: Louise Encina, Valdia (Robert) Espinoza, Amy Leon and Sarita McClary; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; In-laws: Jim (Arleta) Blades, Ruth Truvey, Eleanor Ceba and Ted Martinez. Several nieces, nephews and friends who loved and will miss Selsa dearly. Rosary Saturday 9:30 a.m., with Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Both services at St. Leander Catholic Church. Internment Roselawn Cemetery
