Andrew James Algiene, 23, passed away June 17, 2025. He was born June 2, 2002 to proud parent, Rachel Algiene and father, Robert Granillo. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Christopher Belarde.
Andrew was loved by everyone he encountered, wooing them with his wit, humor, and intelligence. Andrew was employed by District 60 as an "Instructional tutor". He found this to be his calling working with his students and wanted to pursue a career in education.
He enjoyed reading and couldn't wait to purchase a book with every store visit at a very early age. During grade of 4th and 5th grade, he was a Spelling Bee champ, had a talent for drawing and eventually music and playing the guitar, given to him from Grandpa Rory. He was very quick to learn and loved to play back songs he would pick up, one favorite was "Heaven", by Los Lonely Boys. He was very talented in electronics, computers, and enjoyed gaming with friends he made from numerous states.
He enjoyed going with his Grandpa Chris to watch games at "Rockys".
He was always a helping hand with family and friends when needed.
Andrew will be so missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. Please feel free to share thoughts, prayers, and stories about this special, loved, and super wonderful person we will dearly miss.
Andrew is survived by mother, Rachel Algiene; father Robert Granillo; uncles, Adriel Algiene, Michael (Melanie), and Justin (Leann); grandparents, Rory and Charlotte Romero; grandparent, Nadine Belarde; brothers, Jack Cranfill and Eloy Montoya Jr; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
