Annabelle Marquez

Annabelle Marquez, 81, passed away June 15, 2024. She was born in Taos, NM on July 23, 1942.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Marquez; son, Abram Marquez; son-in-law, Donnie Griego; grandchildren, Richard Leal and Jasmin Renee.

She enjoyed playing cards with her family, going to bingo, and trips to Vegas. She was a big fan of boxing; win or lose she was there to support her kids. She was a wonderful cook and you never left her home hungry, her tortillas were a family favorite.  Annabelle always had an open-door policy; her home was for everyone.  She was strong in her faith, always praying for her children, grandchildren, and friends. She loved sharing her life lessons, stories, wisdom and her love with each of her family members. Annabelle was the matriarch of five generations and the last of the Cortez’s.

Annabelle leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Ernestine (Leonard) Arellano, Richard (Lupe) Marquez Jr., Rebecca Leal, Anita Marquez, Gloria (Steve Gonzales) Marquez, Abe (Vivian Trujillo) Marquez, Tanya (Tim Leyba) Rivera; special friend, Jeanette (Matt) Romero, Marie Apodaca, and Mike Prado; 16 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, to include special nieces, Cheryl Baca and Loretta Lucero; numerous family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
