April Christine Martinez

April Christine Martinez, 21, passed away on September 28, 2022.  She was born on April 25, 2001.  She is preceded in death by brother Antonio Martinez; grandparents Richard Martinez, Leroy Tafoya and Mike Valdez.   April graduated from South High in 2020, she loved Hello Kitty and butterflies.  One of her favorite things to do was fly to Arizona with Nana and Ariy to spend time with her Auntie Chelle.  She also enjoyed spending time with her Auntie Birdie and giving her Auntie Nana a hard time, along with pulling Uncle Tre’s goatee.  Her favorite hobbies were shopping, getting her nails done, coloring her hair, getting her eyebrows waxed, and hanging out with the “The Golden Girls”.  She would always tell Destiny that she wishes she looked like her.  Destiny would remind April how beautiful she was and April would give that huge smile.  April loved her siblings and always asked them to live with her.  She spent most days with her crazy nephews Tonio and Enzo baby.  She enjoyed music, dancing and most of all being her Nana’s best friend and sidekick, they were inseparable.  She made us all better people; she was the light of our lives.   April is survived by her proud parents Leroy Tafoya and Renee (Angelo) Valdez; siblings Alysia (Anthony) Martinez, Timothy (Savannah) Tafoya, Richard (Destiny) Martinez, Alexandrea Madrid, Angelo Valdez Jr and special sister Ariyana; grandparents Ramona (Barela) Martinez, Christine Trujillo, Mary Martinez, Loretta Bustillos, Deb Valdez, and Tess Garcia and Great-Aunt Dorothy Sanchez; numerous Aunts and Uncles ; special Aunt Richelle Martinez ; Nina Cindy Herrera and 4 nephews.  Rosary Thursday Oct. 6 at Angelus Chapel at 6 pm.   Mass Friday 10 am Friday Oct. 7, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Online condolences at www.angeluspueblo.com.
