Arthur "Pelon" Joseph Vasquez

Arthur Joseph Vasquez, 49 affectionately known as "Pelon", passed away Dec. 28, 2024. He was born Oct. 2, 1975 in Pueblo, Colorado to loving parents, Art and Frances (Abeyta) Vasquez. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Felomena Escarcida and Felipa Cisneros; aunts, Rosie, Viola and Ursula Escarcida; uncles, Jimmy Vasquez, Louie Cisneros and Jerry Abeyta; special friend, Jarrod Mangin; and cousin, Thomas Abeyta.

Art graduated from Central Class of 1994. He was a Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed eating, beans and tostadas were his favorite. Art loved his sons and was so proud of them. He was the best uncle to his nieces and nephews, always supporting and attending all their functions. He was a character, had a great personality, was fearless and a protector of his family. He was a handyman who could fix anything and would do anything to help anyone in need. Art was selfless and had a big heart. He was well liked by everybody who met him. He raised Pitbull and Frenchie dogs. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was truly a free spirit.

Art is survived by his parents, Art and Frances Vasquez, his wife, Delilah Vasquez; sons, Adam Vasquez and Joseph Aguero-Vasquez; stepson, Juelz Trujillo; sister, Renee (Jerry Cordova) Iacabone; brother, Nick Vasquez; godchildren, Isaiah Iacabone and Juan Heredia; godparents, Ray Delao and Rose Garcia, and James and Diane Iacabone; nephew and nieces, Isaiah (Tanya) Iacabone, Jacob Vasquez, Kylie Iacabone, Rayli, Jade and Elliahana Vasquez; former brother in law, Robert Iacabone; former sister in law, Rosalinda Vasquez; 4 legged companion, Abel; several aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends to include “the Brothers”.
