Benjamin Christopher Finn Sr., affectionately known as "Uncle Ben" to so many, was born on November 5, 1944, and peacefully passed away on January 31, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado.
Preceded in death by his parents, Emelio and Dorothy Finn; his beloved wife, Mary Louise Finn; brothers Ernie, Richard, and John; and sisters Rose and Betty.
He is survived by his son, Chris “Son” Finn (Sher Armijo), daughter Sabrina Finn, son George (Bridgette) Almaraz; grandchildren, Mason, Kayla, Cody (Joanna), Jayce, Nevaeh, Jace, and Khailyn; sisters, Shirley Marron, Diane Finn, and Donna Martinez; brothers-in-law Benjamin Romero, Rudy Martinez, and Dave Lucero; lifelong companion Deborah Rae Vallejos, and an abundance of extended family, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Ben served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966 aboard the USS Coral Sea. Throughout his life, he remained a dedicated supporter of the veteran brotherhood, frequently representing his service at community events.
Ben’s early career was spent in San Francisco, where he worked for the Polaroid Corporation and his wife, Mary, began their family. Later, upon moving to Pueblo, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening a nightclub, which became Tia Maria’s on Lake Avenue.
He continued his commitment to his country in a civilian capacity, dedicating many years to the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) at both Fort Carson and the Pueblo Army Depot. He also served his local community as a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier.
Beyond his professional life, Ben was a fixture in the local community. Whether he was riding his motorcycle or tending behind the bar at Bruno’s and Kim’s Pixie Inn, his humor, sharp wit, and warmth earned him the nickname "Uncle Ben" from countless patrons who became like family.
Ben was a man of deep faith and a dedicated member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, attending Mass every Sunday alongside his loved ones in the same pew. He was happiest when riding his trike and being surrounded by his family. Ben will always be remembered for making everyone feel special by greeting family, friends, and strangers alike with a warm "Hi, my love." He demonstrated profound kindness, an immense heart, and an infectious laugh.
