Calvin C. Jackson Sr. (Fire Knocker) was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, on December 27, 1924, to the parentage of Logan and Gertrude Jackson Sr. “Fire Knocker” & “Action Jackson”, as he was known to all. He grew up in Kingfisher, OK and later relocating to Pueblo, CO where he remained a pillar in the community.
He was known for his amazing carpenters work and his delicious Bar B-Q. He led an exemplary life, one that touched many lives.
Calvin grew up with a Godly life and served The Lord. He would always live the way of treating others with love and respect.
Calvin’s greatest joy was family, and even strangers became family, calling him Action Jackson. He was one of the Juneteenth founders, and President for many years; he was also head chef for 26 years. He found great joy serving the people and leading them into the Juneteenth Celebration every year and not missing a beat.
He was a husband, father, grandpa, and a friend to many, but also so much more.
Well he looked upon God’s Face, and He stretched out His Hand and said, “Well done thy good and faithful servant…come on home and rest.”
