Obituary
Charles A. Chavez, 72, affectionately known as “Chuck”, passed Aug. 13, 2023. He was born June 1, 1951, in Pueblo, CO. to parents Nick and Rosemary (Fernandez) Chavez who preceded him in death along with his son, Taustin Chavez; and brothers, Glenn, Gary and Bobby Chavez.
Charles served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany where he met his wife Gerda, they just celebrated 50 years of marriage this past June. Together they owned The Sunset Inn for 43 years. He always greeted his patrons with a “Hey Hey Hey” and his big smile ready to tell a joke. Charles took pride in helping all family, friends and members of the Pueblo community. He cherished most his time with his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife, Gerda Chavez, daughters Tanja (Ricardo) Barela and Cassy (Shawn) Gibbons; sister Dianne; brothers Nick (Teresa) and Bill (Mimi); sisters-in-law Marie and JoAnn; grandchildren Alyssa, Miriah (Paul), Brendon, Lexie (Rafael), Rikkilyn and Taustin; 4 great grandchildren. In honor of Chuck, please wear favorite sports jersey.
Funeral Service 10 am Tues. Aug. 22, 2023 at Praise Assembly of God.
