Charlotte Gallegos

Charlotte Gallegos, 80, passed away on April 3, 2026. She was born on April 24, 1945, in Walsenburg, Colorado to John Martinez and Nancy Abeyta Ortivez. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Gallegos; her son, Joey Gallegos; her father, John Martinez; her sister, Johanna Olivarri.

Charlotte found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crafting, playing bingo, and spending time in her garden, where she especially cherished hydrangeas, sunflowers, and roses. She also enjoyed watching game shows with her husband, Joseph. Above all, her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family. She generously shared her stories, lessons, and wisdom with each of them, but most importantly, she shared her unwavering love.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Michael (Terri) Gallegos; her mother, Nancy Ortivez; her sisters, Joyce Dalton, Jackie (Jack) Dennison, MJ Latham, and Janice (Howard) Pacheco; her grandchildren, Chelsea Gallegos and Jerica Mauro (Zack); and her great-grandchildren, Zane, Sophia, Makenzie, Presley, Teddy, Luke, and Lucy. She also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
