Cheryl Lynn Thompson, was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin as well a great aunt. She was born on February 20, 1959, in Omaha, Nebraska. The youngest of her five sisters, JoAnn, Janet, Judi, and Ellen but, older than her little brother, Raymond. The family moved from Omaha to Pueblo in 1961, where Cheryl would live throughout her childhood. She attended Highland Park Elementary, Roncalli Middle School, and South High School. During her school years, Cheryl, her sisters, and their many friends had some wonderfully fun times. On occasion those fun times tested her mother's patience, who saved her father from deep distress. However, she developed
friendships that lasted forever.
At the age of 19, Cheryl went to work for the Grand Teton Lodge in Wyoming, as well the Wigwamin Litchfield Park, Arizona. Both of these were high resorts. Cheryl not only held her own, but excelled in the restaurant industry. She had a natural connection with people, and a contagious smile filled with energy.
In coming back to Colorado, Cheryl and Ellen moved to west Denver where she started working at "Josephina's". It was not long and she was running the show. In fact, made a deal with Ray that if he brought Gina downtown on a date so she could meet her, he would just had to leave a good tip! Deal made! After many years she moved on to the "Comedy Works" in Laramier Square, in Downtown Denver. There many siblings, cousins and friends visited her not only seeing a comedy routine but Cheryl in action. These were just a couple of her favorites. As found out in later years while Cheryl was working at Josephina's, her future husband Joe worked a couple restaurants down. Friendly, Spunky, and full of Energy was Cheryl. She could always
make you laugh, had a smile on her face, and was committed to any task she set her mind too.
Cheryl was a proud Aunt. She always made it to her nieces and nephews Baptism's, and Christmas get togethers, Confirmations, and Graduations. Over the years, we celebrated many anniversary parties, weddings, and special times. In talking with her nieces and nephews, their favorite memories included being given a silver coin, as well a buffalo nickel. In fact Chris and David still have them to this day. Other memories include sleep over's with Aunt Cheryl. This was something Lanelle remembered well. Fun, was the popular word that described this Aunt.
A favorite memory Uncle Joe remembered was he and Aunt Cheryl helping out with their grandniece Marissa. They enjoyed picking her up from the art school and taking her to the dollar store to let her shop.
Cheryl is survived by her Husband; Joseph Archibeque, Sister's; JoAnn Thompson (Joe Hubersberger), Janet Thompson Short (Howard), and her Brother, Raymond Thompson (Gina). She will also be loved and missed by her nieces and nephews, David, Vanessa, Jeremy, Christopher, Weston, Jeffery, and Lanelle. As well 5 grand nieces, and 2 grand nephews. Also survived by her Aunt Rosalee Ziemba, and Uncle Dennis VIcek both of Nebraska, as well countless cousins. Cheryl was preceded in Death by her Father: Raymond Thompson Mother; Philomena Thompson, and sisters Judi and Ellen Thompson.
Cheryl will be sorely missed.
