Connie Lauer Obituary

Connie L. Lauer, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4, 2026. Born to Herbert Jr. and Irene McKenzie on December 4, 1949, in Sterling, Colorado.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Bill; daughter, Kristi; sisters-in-law, Diana and Janice; brothers-in-law, Randy and Gene; niece, Michelle; and great-niece, Lilly.

Connie leaves to cherish her memory, loving daughter, Becky (Brandon); sisters, Vicki (Jim) and Shelley (Neil); brother, Dan; brothers-in-law, Delbert, Jerry, and Bob; sisters-in-law, Fran (Duane) and Gale; cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; godsons, Heath and Cambron; close family friends, Duone, Levi, Duane, Dani, Carol, Celeste, Melissa, Sandy, Amber, Kim, Leonard, Beth, and numerous other friends.

Connie enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, and painting pottery. She loved spending time with her family, family dinner night, playing mahjong, getting together with her friends, and the companionship of her cherished cat.

Connie graduated from Crook High School and University of Southern Colorado. She was a former preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten teacher at St. John Neumann Catholic School, where she devoted many years of her teaching career to educating and inspiring young children. Just before her retirement, she worked at Building Blocks Learning Center, continuing her lifelong dedication to nurturing, educating, and caring for young children. To her students, she was simply known as “Mrs. Connie,” a caring and devoted teacher who left a lasting impression on many lives.

Connie was a loving wife, nurturing mother, caring sister, supportive aunt, compassionate friend, and a patient teacher. She had a kind heart, was always there if you needed her, and she had a way of making people feel welcome and special. She will be remembered with love and missed beyond measure by all who knew her.

To honor Connie’s memory, take the time to let the people you care about know how much they mean to you, smile, laugh, have fun, and tell a story or two.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pueblo, CO.  The Rosary will begin at 9:30am, followed by Mass at 10:00am.
