In loving memory of our mother, Curlie Mae Mangram who passed away peacefully in her home on May 16th, 2023. Curlie was born on February 27th, 1933 to Jeff Davis and Rosa Lee Jordan in Nashville, Arkansas. Growing up, Curlie developed a deep devotion to the Lord that blossomed into a strong desire to serve God so that others would come experience the same love. She married her life mate on August 12, 1950 and went on to graduate from Central High School in 1953.
Curlie was the devoted wife of Clearthur Mangram and loving mother of Fredrick, Sinclair, Myles, Diane and Jeff. She studied Hairdressing and Nursing and continued her education earning her RN degree from Southern Colorado State College. She was a devoted nurse employed at St. Mary Corwin Hospital for 28 years on the night shift and, after receiving her minister’s license, pastored Mercy and Peace Gospel Pentecostal Church during that same time until the day she went to be with the Lord. Her joyful service and unconditional acceptance of any person who entered the doors of the little church on Cedar and Arroyo drew many in and there are many testimonies of the lives that were changed, and hearts turned toward God.
Curlie’s devotion to God and faith in His promises were the driving force of the love she lavished on her children and later her grandchildren. Common words that are expressed when speaking of their mother are, Caretaker, Prayer warrior, Equalizer, non-judgmental, Patient, My Champion. She was so much of this and more to many friends, neighbors and extended family. Surely, she will be missed by all. Let us increase her joy by carrying on the legacy that she so carefully and thoughtfully crafted by her life her on earth.
Curlie leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Frederick (Margaret) Mangram, Sinclair (Priscilla) Mangram, Myles (Chia) Mangram, Diane Rochelle Mangram, Jeff (Mei Lin) Mangram; Myles (Pauline) Davis; grandchildren, Myles, Matthew, Heather, Celeste, Jon, Clearthur, Trevor, Mya, and Aubrey; 15 great-granchildren and a host of family and friends who will cherish every memory she has given us.
