Daniel Kowalczik Obituary

Daniel George Kowalczik, 90, of Pueblo, CO, formerly Kennerdell, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Born in Barking, PA on February 26, 1935, Daniel was the youngest son of the late Charles and Anna Kowalczik.

He was a 1954 graduate of Emlenton High School. He soon after joined the United States Air Force and served from 1956 to 1960. Daniel worked for various manufacturing plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He then became employed with Erie-Lackawanna Railroad in Meadville, PA in 1967. After the railroad consolidation, he continued to work at the Conrail Program Car Shop in Meadville as a welder and at various other sites as a carman and inspector until his retirement in 1997. He was a faithful member of the Barton Road United Brethren In Christ Church of Meadville, PA and was also a part of the Transport Workers Union. On November 19, 1976, Daniel was married to his wife, the former Sara Catherine Lewis, who preceded him in death on April 28, 2006.

Daniel is survived by a sister, Mary Woodie, of Trinidad, CO and numerous loved nieces, nephews, great- nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Joseph, and John Kowalczik, and a sister, Katherine Kowalczik Bodnar.

There will be no services.

Interment will take place at Rockland Cemetery in Kennerdell, PA.

Local arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Daniel's family requests that memorial donations be made in his name to Barton Road United Brethren Church 20262 Barton Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
