Daniel E. Smith, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 31, 2023. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born Dec. 7, 1983 to proud parents, Ernesto Valdez and Grace Smith. He is preceded in death by his father along with his brother, Paul Smith; wife, Natasha Debrinski; son, Daniel Howard; grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Smith; aunt, Regis Cody; cousins, Donna and Donnie Medina.
Daniel loved daily physical exercise and he would put his regime on Tik Tok. Daniel was the founder of Cut Different Smith, his brand, and worked side by side with Addict to Athletes. He was a phenomenal personal trainer. He was trying to make a difference in our community feeding the homeless and working with United Way. Daniel had a great sense of humor. He was his mom’s hito cito and she was his mama mia, sopapilla. He was very generous and would give the shirt off his back. Daniel wanted to make a change and do great things. He was committed to doing good.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Grace Smith; brothers, Ben (Shenna Trujillo) Martinez and Buddy Cody; niece, Trinity Fernandez; nephew, Paul Smith Jr.; aunts, Bridget Smith (Lorenzo), Julie Smith, Mary Andrews, Joan Cody, Theresa (Louie) Hines and Janet (Francisco) Valdez; uncles, Albert and Tom Smith; granddaughter, Danielle Howard; companion, Amanda Valdez and his unborn child; cousins, Patrick Cody, Jared Valdez, Gallo Valdez, Angelina Valdez, Cynthia Medina, Denise Medina and EJ Medina.
