Denise Marie Valerio Neely

Denise was born Dec. 12th, 1959 in Cortez, CO the daughter of Dale Valerio Sr and Yvonne Marie Bertwell Valerio. She passed away at her home in Pueblo, CO on Thursday, Nov. 11th, 2021 at the age of 62. Denise grew up in Dolores and spent the majority of her life in the Dolores area. Denise was blessed with her first child, a son, May 31st, 1977 and moved into a small home in Cortez with her son and best friend for life Debbie Johnson Cone who also had her first son. Denise worked hard as a single mother to provide a good life for her son working as a car hop at Sonic and worked many shifts on roller skates , many would say she was the best at it. In Sept of 1982, Denise married James Williams of Dove Creek, CO and was blessed with her second child, a daughter, on June 24th 1983. They moved their small family to South Fork, CO. Life took different turns and Denise moved back home to Cortez with her children, gets re-married, to the love of her life, Ricky Royce Neely, June 28th, 1987 and was instantly blessed with another son and two daughters. They spent the next 27 years together farming/ranching in Yellow Jacket, CO. Denise enjoyed knitting/crocheting, cooking for holidays and family barbecues for her children's Birthdays when they were younger. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her beloved dogs. Denise is survived by her maternal Aunt Janet and husband Jeff Jones of Page AZ; her siblings, Dale Ray Akin and wife, Ann of Cortez, CO; Debbie Lynn Valerio of Dolores, CO; Deryle Dean Valerio of Cheyenne, WY, her children, grandchildren,  nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Denise was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, mother Yvonne Bertwell, father Dale Valerio Sr, brother Darcy Gene Akin, sister Edena Vonne Akin and her husband Ricky Royce Neely.

Celebration of Life/Memorial Services will be planned for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the below organizations in memory of Denise or a charity of your choice in Denise's name
