Desi Leigh Ortiz, 18, passed away unexpectedly June 1, 2026. Born November 16, 2007 to proud parents Leigh Stefan Ortiz and Kia Joy Hawley in Pueblo, CO.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leigh Stefan Ortiz, and great grandmother, Sharon Tafoya.
He is survived by his mother, Kia (Christopher) Hawley; brothers, Allen (Lyliah) Mauro and Henry Ortiz; his love, Mariah Bernal; grandfathers, Douglas (Chrystal) Hawley, and Dean (Lana) Ortiz; grandmother Susan (Michael) Baker; uncles Kyle Hawley and Cage Martinez; aunties, Jessica (Denis) Barden, Contessa (Mick) Martinez, Jazz (Ben) Landeros, Chacee Martinez, Chelcee Martinez; dear cousins, Emily Hawley and Cadi Chavez; along with numerous family and friends.
Growing up, Desi was involved in numerous sports, as athleticism came naturally to him. He strived at anything he put his mind to. He excelled in academics, which allowed him to graduate early, he was very proud of that. His work ethic continued throughout his teenage years and impressed many with his ability to achieve so much at such a young age. His hobbies included; building Legos, gaming with his brother and friends, playing with his cats, and watching cartoons. He absolutely loved music and enjoyed sharing it with anyone who would like. He loved to have deep conversations, but his most cherished time was spent talking with his love, Mariah, until they both fell asleep.
He will be forever loved and missed!
