Diego Montez Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Diego Ryan Montez on June 19, 2026, at the young age of 25.

Born on May 22, 2001, Diego was the beloved son of Ralph and Rita Montez, whose lives were forever changed by the loss of their cherished son. Though his time on earth was far too short, Diego left an unforgettable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Diego’s smile could light up a room, and his laughter was truly infectious. He was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and warm soul. Polite, compassionate, and caring, he had a way of making others feel welcomed and valued. Since his passing, countless friends and loved ones have shared stories of his kindness, sweet personality, and the smile that brightened their days.

He had a special love for children and often spoke of one day becoming a father. He loved his family and three dogs (Sammie, Vinny, and Jax), who brought him great comfort and companionship throughout his life.

Diego enjoyed many interests and passions. He loved loud cars, video games, collecting unique items, and music. He had a natural talent with computers and was especially gifted with technology, often helping family and friends with his knowledge and skills.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank G. Romero and Ralph Montez Sr., who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Diego is survived by his loving parents, Ralph and Rita Montez; sister, Danika Archuleta; beloved nephews, Donte and Julian Medina; grandmothers, Martha Romero and Margie Montez; aunts Karen (David) Espinoza, Donna (Daniel) Montiel, Carol (Eddie); uncle, LeRoy (Jonette) Romero; cousins, DJ (Kassy), Alex, Christopher, Karlee, Devin, CJ (Aleeca), Alycia, and Jerika; along with numerous extended family members and friends, who will forever cherish his memory.

Diego will be remembered for his generous heart, unforgettable laugh, bright smile, and the warmth he brought into every room. His family hopes he will always be remembered for the kindness he shared, the love he gave, and the joy he brought to so many.

His life, though brief, touched many people. The love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
