Donaciano "Don" David Maldonado

Donaciano David Maldonado, affectionately known as Donald, Don, Donnie, Dad, Papi, Brother and friend passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021. Don was born on December 28, 1955 in Pueblo, CO to Steve and Bernice Maldonado. He is survived by his “bride” of 42 years Nancy, devoted children Melissa and Dan Brondel and Aaron and Merlinda Maldonado and the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Hailey, Noah, Braylon, Micah and Addie. Also survived by his brother and sisters, Frieda and John Rivera, Eva Maldonado, Pat Mollock, MC (Vic) Reichman, Carrie Betz and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Bernice, his brother, Stevie and his in-laws, Buddy and Jeanette Wethington. Don lived his life to the fullest. His love of sports, community and friendship began on the streets of Bessemer. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1974, and truly believed “Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat”. He never knew a stranger because they quickly became a friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, his love of life, gambling, Coors Tavern and always doing what he could to help people out. In honor of his “people skills”, we’d like to invite you to the Memorial Mass 10 a.m Friday July 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Celebration of Life to begin at 12:30pm at Steel City Eagles #3367, 704 Elmhurst Pl. Pueblo, CO
