Dorothy Ontiveros, 86, passed away February 8, 2025 in Gardner, CO. She was born on February 7, 1939 in Westcliff, CO to parents, Genaro and Augustina (Sanchez) Martinez. Both precede her in death along with her sons, Eddie and Everett Archuleta, and brother, Genaro Martinez Jr.
Dorothy worked as a teacher’s aide for 17 years at La Escuelita and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, both in Gardner, CO. She loved to travel to New Mexico and Cripple Creek. Dorothy loved to dance; she would be the first to hit the dance floor. Her family was her world, especially her grandkids, sharing her life stories, lessons, and words of wisdom and love with each of them.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Ezequiel Ontiveros; son, Darrell (Carol) Archuleta; siblings, Pauline Valdez, Orlando (Patricia) Martinez, and Isidore (Darlene) Martinez, in-laws, Vickie Martinez, Ana Maria Ontiveros, Cruz Ontiveros, Delia Ontiveros, Elva Ontiveros, and Bonifacio Ontiveros; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (Hanna) Archuleta, Desiree Archuleta Lucero, Chelsey (Don) Stabley, and Amberae Archuleta; 6 great grandchildren, David Lucero, Rain Lucero, Isaiah Archuleta, Alex Archuleta, Emily Archuleta and Asher Archuleta.
