Doyle Gene Lewis, better known as “Gene”, passed away at 93 on May 15, 2020 in Pueblo, Co. A former resident of Oklahoma City, Gene was born in Wayne, Oklahoma and preceded in death by his parents, Allen Ray and Lidia Lewis, and his brothers, Bun and Rip Lewis. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Jean Lewis, his daughter, Brenda Sue Jones and her husband Rick; two grandchildren, Michelle Chapman and husband Eric, and Todd Warlick and wife Lauren; fivegreat-grandchildren, Shelby Kyle, Laken Warlick, Grace, Kate and Claire Chapman; and two great-great grandchildren, Kinley and Karsyn Kyle.
Gene retired from his business, L and O Pump and Supply, after 30 years of service to the oil field industry. He loved traveling and spending time with his wife, Wanda, who he called his sweetheart. He referred to himself and Wanda as an “old pair of jeans”. He loved raising beef master cattle, working the land on his tractor, fishing with his grand-children, and watching western movies while eating big bowls of peppermint ice cream. One of his biggest enjoyments was teaching Brenda, his daughter, how to ride horses.
Gene had a great sense of humor, and would often pull pranks on his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving, caring, strong Christian man who will be dearly missed.
