ELAINE S. (DANAILOFF) DE LUCA, 99, passed away November 27, 2024 in Pueblo, CO. Born September 16, 1925 in Frederick, CO to parents Angelo and Mary (Jackson Jakse) Danailoff, who preceded her in death. She married Floyd J. DeLuca in 1949 and together they owned and operated DeLuca Grocery & Market in Blende from 1949 to 2007. They were known for their homemade Italian sausage. She was preceded in death by husband Floyd J. DeLuca and brother Daniel Danailoff. Survived by her daughter Diana (Greg) Armstrong and sister-in-law Penny Danailoff and nieces, nephews and many friends she made at Sharmar Village Senior Care Community
Elaine was past president of American Legion Post 203 Auxiliary, a past member of Christian Mothers and a long-time member of the Western Slovanic Association.
Elaine was a compassionate listener, a great secret keeper and many people confided in her. She had a quick wit, big smile and loved to tease and be teased. She was outspoken and you always knew where you stood with her.
She played the piano in Floyd’s polka band for many weddings and events in town and often played for midnight mass. She was an accomplished accordionist and singer in her younger days. Elaine and Floyd loved to dance and attended many dances in town. She had great fashion sense and turned many heads.She was an amazing cook and made many courses for her annual Easter dinner for the family. Her baked goods were picture perfect.
She loved spending time in the mountains at her Aunt Liz and Uncle Frank Fiori’s cabin in Raymond, CO. where the family would gather twice a year.
She was a steady companion and partner in crime with her daughter, Diana, and loved shopping and going out for breakfast or lunch. She was a dedicated wife and mother who did nearly everything to perfection.
