Ella Mae Blake

Ella Mae Blake age 84, ascended to be with our lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Surrounding her in her final moments was her son, James Blake, and the loving staff of Brookdale Senior Living after a trying battle with Alzheimer’s.

Ella Mae was born January 7, 1937, in Rockwell, Iowa.  She grew up alongside three brothers: Kenneth, Virgil and Dwayne.  Virgil introduced her to her husband, William Robert Blake, during the Korean War and they were married soon after. She and William provided loving foster care for numerous children and adopted two.   She was a registered nurse, a pianist and an organist for her church.

Ella Mae loved to travel, attend church charity events and visits to Cripple Creek, Colorado.  You could always count on Ella Mae to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Her kind heart will forever be remembered by those who received the blessing of meeting her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William, brothers Dewayne and Virgil and son, Jeffrey. She is survived by her sons, James and Doug; daughter in law, Roni; grandchildren Dallas, Nathan and Lauren;  and a great grandson, Zachary. Services will be held on Saturday, February 13, at The Avenue Church, 3030 Thatcher Ave, Pueblo, Colorado,  beginning at 11:00 AM.
