Elvira Castro 77, passed away in Pueblo, on December 7, 2024. Born February 20, 1947, in Raton, NM to Trevino and Mary (Colangelo) Sanchez, who preceded her in death. She is now reunited with her husband Chris Castro. Elvira worked in Property Management and was a loving Child Care Provider. She loved crossword puzzles, singing, sewing, and cutting hair. She was an excellent crocheter and she loved doing her arts and crafts, watching her soap operas, especially her favorite, General Hospital. She was a great cook; you never left her home without eating. She always had her little partner next to her, Canelo. Elvira was the Matriarch of four generations. She loved sharing her life lessons, stories and love for each of her children, and grandchildren, making sure that her family would stay together and continue her tradition. Elvira will be missed and is loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Trevino Sanchez, Mary and Joseph Pacheco: son; Richard Gallegos: siblings; Geneva Velarde, Merrile Vigil, Pat Vigil, Leroy Vigil: in-laws; Robert & Lena Marmalejo; grandson, Robert Baca Jr., son-in-law Mathew Jones.
Survived by children: Victor Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, Fred Gallegos, Andrea Gallegos-Griffin, Dedra Jones, Amanda (Manny Amaro) Castro, Kambrea (Jimmy) Lefebre, Christine (Alejandro Hernandez) Castro, Tashina (Robert) Baca: siblings; Ricky Lujan, Margie Duran, Bernice Sena: sister-in-law; Dorothy Marmalejo, 26 grandchildren, 14 Great-great grandchildren and her four-legged companion Canelo.
