Elvira Salinas Gonzales, 83, passed away June 19, 2025. She was born March 30, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Eduardo and Armanda DeLaCruz Salinas who precede her in death along with her beloved husband, James Raymond Gonzales Sr.; siblings, Martha Lopez, Juan Salinas, Ramon Salinas, Claudio Salinas; nephew, Emilio Lopez.
Elvira came to the United States at a very young age to help her family in Mexico and found the love of her life James in Center, CO. She was a migrant farmworker. She also enjoyed assisting Bishop Tafoya for many years. Elvira was a great cook, she made everything with love. She was a woman of strong faith. She shared her faith, love, wisdom with her children and grandchildren. Her family was her everything, she cherished all her times with each of them.
Elvira is survived by her children, Rosa Leon, Judy Atencio & Tim Atencio, James Raymond Gonzales Jr. & Dolores Kathy Gonzales, Claudia “Tina” Aleman and Ramon Aleman; grandchildren, William Quintana Jr., Samuel Miguel Leon, James Raymond Gonzales III, Ivan Cruzito Gonzales, Marissa Gonzales, Kayla Gonzales, Kassandra Atencio, Michael Atencio, Mireya Aleman, and Aaron Aleman; 10 great-grandchildren.
Rosary 6p.m. Monday June 23, 2025 at Angelus Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial 10a.m. Tuesday June 24, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Internment, Roselawn Cemetery
