Epefania “Eppie” Barela, 83, passed away Aug.17, 2023. She was born April 7, 1940 in Wiley, CO to Lupe and Rose (Trujillo) Hernandez who precede her in death along with husband, Eloy Barela, and several siblings.

Eppie enjoyed word finds, playing poker, and watching game shows on TV. Spending time with her friends and socializing was on of her favorites. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family who she loved and adored. Eppie was the matriarch of 5 generations.

Eppie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Victoria (Danny) Maldonado; her son, Eloy Barela Jr.; her grandchildren, Daniel Barela, Desiree Barela, Alicia (Vanessa) Montez, Eloy Jiron, Shantel Jiron, Michelle Barela, Dion (Erin) Barela, Jeremy Barela; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Service 2pm Thursday Aug. 24, 2023 at Angelus Chapel. Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus. Online condolences at www.angeluspueblo.com
