Epimenio Fred Solano, 72, passed away unexpectedly July 2, 2021. He was born August 10, 1948, to proud parents Epimenio George and Maria Rosa Solano both precede him in death along with a nephew, Jeffrey and nieces Robin and Terry. Epimenio served in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army; Sergeant Solano, served a combat tour in the Vietnam War, he received many awards and accommodations, to include a Bronze Star. “Fred” as he was affectionately known, retired from Central States Roofing. He was a proud member of the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team, he loved honoring his fellow veterans. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, fishing and camping with Colonel John Saez, watching football and baseball. Fred was the proud coach of the “the Hogs” 2019 Champion football team, where his grandson played. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family, but above all being with his soulmate and love of his life Rosella; traveling, going sightseeing and just being by each other’s side. Epimenio is survived by his loving wife, Rosella; his children, Victor (Shanda) Solano, Lori (Melinda) Solano-Gifford, Epimenio Solano, Antonio Solano, Kalee Solano, Joshua Solano, Epimenio G. Solano, Anthony (Sheena) Velaquez, Johnnie (Heidi) Baca and John Lee Gonzales; grandchildren, Matthew (Layla), Noelle, Shelby (James), Jade (Dez), Kasai, Reyna, Leathen, Alton, Sienna Rose, Elex, Autumn, Aaron, Brandon, Jacob, Angelo, Cruzito, Johnnie Jr., Luis and Athena; great grandchildren, Dominic, Xavier, Suri, Tahvi and Demi; siblings, Tom (Elsie) Solano, Dale (Margaret) Solano, Linda (Bill) Trujillo, George (Donna) Solano, Ronnie (Mitty) Solano and Jerry Solano; his four legged babies, Rio, Pepe, Precious, Homer and Bart; his best friend, Richard Campbell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and other relatives and friends that will miss him.
Funeral Mass 1pm Friday July 9, 2021, St. Francis Xavier Church. Father Jonathan Fassero, OSB as Celebrant.
Interment, Roselawn with Military Honors by Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
Family will receive friends following burial at Knights of Columbus, 1200 Acero Ave, Pueblo, CO
