Ernest Rael, 94, passed away peaceful Jan. 14, 2021. A lifetime Avondale resident. He was born Sept. 10, 1926 to John F. and Agatha (Vialpando) Rael both precede him in death along with sons, George A. and David Rael; siblings, Eugene and Agatha Rael. Ernest retired with 32 years of service from Pueblo Army Depot. He was a workaholic, he enjoyed fishing, sports, camping, and helping at the church. He loved doing the family tree. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family and grandchildren who were the world to him. His last words to them were “I love you more!” Ernest is survived by his wife of 72 years, Connie (Aragon) Rael; his children, Bob (Gloria) Rael, Charlene (Paul) Gauna, Bill (Gloria) Rael, Betty Rael, Tom Rael, Bernadette (Steve) Guerrero, Tina (Sam) Martinez, Lynn Hoppes; daughter-in-law, Lada; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Olivas; in-laws, Yolanda (Alvin) True, Bonnie (Agneda), Eddie, Socorro, and Lillian Aragon. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Thursday Sacred Heart of Avondale. Mask required. Limited seating due to gathering restrictions. Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
