Eva F. DeLeon, 97, passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2023. She was born June 22, 1926 in Maxwell, NM to proud parents Francis and Eva (Martinez) Olmstead. Both precede her in death along with her husbands, Russell DeLeon and Ernest Samora Sr.; her son, Ernest Samora Jr.; son-in-law, Theodore “Ted” Guerrero; a grandson, Ernie Ruben Samora III; her brothers, Frank, Walter, Billy and Eddie Olmstead; sisters, Helen Catallo, Edna Easter and Stella Adams; best friends, Emily Martinez, Ida Menapace and Jessie (Johnny) Rizzo. Eva retired with 20 years of service with Mountain Bell-US West Communications. She was the owner of DeLeon’s Lounge on Lake Ave. Eva was a devout catholic and a member of Holy Family Church. She prayed her rosary daily and sent many blessings to family and friends. Eva is survived by her children, Evelyn Montez, Pat Guerrero, Joyce (Art) Manzanarez and Ron DeLeon; special niece, Susie Adams; her grandchildren, Robbie (Stacy) Montez, Lisa (Teherreara) Tucker, Kimberly (Tom) Denslow, Jason (Felicia) Guerrero, Jodi Manzanarez, Dino Manzanarez, Sierra (Brad) Cardwell, Che DeLeon, Kia DeLeon, Nicole (David) Barela, Maggie (Jesus) LaRocha; 16 great grandchildren, Teagan Tucker, Sam and Sarah Denslow, Jory Manzanarez, Helaina Cardwell, Ruby and Mika DeLeon, Esperanza, David Jr. and Santino Barela, Alyssia, May and Christopher LaRocha, Ernie, Tony and Adam Samora; sisters-in-law, Cecelia and Ramona Olmstead; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and will miss her. Rosary, 6 pm, Wed., Oct. 18, 2023 and Funeral Mass, 10 am, Thurs., Oct. 19, 2023, both at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
