It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of F. Lorraine DiNero on July 1st, 2025. She was born in Alamosa on April 19th, 1932 to parents, Albert and Anne Holland.
Lorraine is survived by her brother, Robert Holland; son, Jeff (Deb) DiNero; daughter, Lynn DiNero; her beloved sweet and ornery rescue dog, Remi; sister-in-law, Donna DiNero; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were all very special to her.
Preceded in death by her husband of almost 63 years, Fred DiNero; son, Scott DiNero; parents, Albert and Anne Holland; infant twin brothers, William and Albert; and in-laws, Pasco and Mercedes DiNero.
Lorraine was a devout Catholic who volunteered her time and energy in various capacities at St. Therese Catholic Church up until her passing. She enjoyed long walks with her friends, reading, playing Bunco and baking. Lorraine enjoyed entering in the pantry, plants and art categories at the Colorado State Fair and has several ribbons to show for it. She liked to bowl, but had to admit she was terrible at it! Lorraine was a blood donor which was very important to her.
We will all miss Lorraine deeply as she was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. Her devotion to her faith shone through her actions and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Her warm smile, sense of humor, caring nature and compassionate heart touched many lives. Lorraine had an ability of making others feel heard and understood and was known for her willingness to listen and her sage advice.
As we say goodbye to Lorraine, let us remember the incredible impact she had on our lives. Her legacy of love, faith and selflessness will continue to inspire and guide us. She will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of her family and friends.
We invite you to join us at her Funeral Mass, which will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese Church, 300 Goodnight Ave. on Thursday July 10th, 2025 at 10a.m. Entombment at Roselawn Cemetery.
Lorraine would have been deeply grateful to anyone who would donate blood in her memory as this was a cause close to her heart.
Visitation, 1 pm-5 pm, Wed., July 9, 2025 at The Angelus Chapel.
