Henry L. Gonzales, 74, passed away July 17, 2024. He was born February 15, 1950 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to parents, Estevan and Rose (Casias) Gonzales. Both precede him in death along with his daughter, Serena Gonzales; godson, Jason Trujillo; in-laws, Ernest and Angelina (Mascarenas) Ortega.
Henry was proud of his Army service and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the Government Printing office with 24 years of service. He played with the band, The Dukes and founded Henry and The Monterey’s. Celebrating many occasions for over 42 years, bringing joy and the sound of great music. Henry enjoyed bowling, he was on many leagues throughout Pueblo. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage, fixing things that could never be fixed and breaking things that were fixed. He just always liked to keep busy. Henry loved to have conversations with anyone whether they were homeless or VIP, he just loved to talk. He enjoyed going to the casinos with his love Shirley, traveling to New Mexico visiting with his primos. Henry’s biggest joy was his family, especially his grandkids. Spending time and sharing his stories and love with each of them. He took pride in his family and made sure no one ever went without anything they ever wanted.
Henry is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Gonzales; daughters, Sabrina (Ramiro Jr.) Perez and Silviana (Justin) Gulley; grandchildren, Ramiro Perez III, Isaac Perez, Loriah Chacon, Javelyn Gonzales, and Tayton Gulley; in-laws, Ernie (Florence) Ortega, Eugene (Windy) Ortega, Gary (Valerie) Ortega and Rosanne (Wayne) Padilla; godchildren, Darlene Batista, Lori Schindler, Conrad Mascarenas, and James Martinez. Henry will be missed and was loved by many.
