Herbert C. Romero passed away July 15, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born January 24, 1943 in Worcester, MA. Preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Moses Romero; his parents, Moses Romero Jr. and Mary Ellen Romero; brother, Paul Romero; sister, Vicky Stockton; in-laws, Dionicio and Victoria Flores; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his very much loved four-legged companion, Buster.
Herb honorably served his country through his services as a Marine. He was also 32 Mason, a successful business owner of Freedom Paint & Body/Demon Motors and retiree of the CF&I in Pueblo, Colorado. Herb earned an Associates of Arts degree and a BA in Behavioral Science from Southern Colorado State College in 1973. IN 1988-1995 Governor of Colorado Roy Romero appointed him to the Colorado Motor Vehicle Dealer Board, which he served with great pride. Her was an avid lover of motor vehicles (Trucks, Cars and Motorcycles). His motto “to own every car, truck, or motorcycle I can throughout his life”. He enjoyed going to garage sales and Antique stores with Buster, thus he was named as the “Treasure Hunter”.
In preparing for our move, among the many cherished items he liked to collect was a copy of the “Desiderata”. This is how he lived his life and his hopes for not only family he loved but also for all who knew him and called him friend.
Survived by his loving wife, Beatrice “Bea” Flores-Romero; sons, Paul (Becky) Romero and Tim Romero; grandchildren, Kelli (Derrick) Jones, Tyler (Callie) Romero, Mason Romero and Dylan Romero; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Leila and Greyson Jones; sister, Stella (Moses) Arellano; brother, Joe Romero; step-son, Greg (Anita) Salazar and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and several in-laws through his wife’s side, all with whom loved and will miss him greatly.
Internment and Celebration of Life will be held upon our return to Colorado.
