Herminia Maria (Armijo) Villanueva, affectionately known as "Ermie", 98, was called home by the Lord on July 17, 2024. She was born June 14, 1926 in El Cerrito, New Mexico to parents, Cristiano and Margarita (Quintana) Armijo. Both precede her in death along with her husband, Ramos Villanueva and daughter, Anna (Casaus) Villanueva.
Ermie was a compassionate woman who loved the Lord and spending time with her family. She was a fantastic baker, loved cooking, and crocheted beautiful gifts for family and friends. Herminia loved the outdoors while listening to the birds and saying, “The birds are so happy!”. She was strong in her faith and was a member of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Ermie will be greatly missed and remembered for her kind and compassionate nature and her love for her family. Ermie was loved by all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Judy (Rudy) Martinez, Roy (Arline) Villanueva, Connie (Abel) Tapia, Betty Villanueva and Sonny Villanueva; and loving brother, Joe Armijo; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass, 10 am, Wed., July 24, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery.
