Irene Sedillo

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Sedillo announce her passing on November 29, 2024, at the age of 85. Irene was born on December 25, 1938 in North Veta. She was the daughter of Alfred & Annie Cruz who precede her in death; along with; sister & brother-in-law, Gloria (Albert) Pineda, mother-in-law, Della Lucero & son-in-law, Luis Barron.

Irene was a graduate of St. Mary High School. She served as an officer with the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary, Housing Authority Board of Directors, Walsenburg School Board & was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church. Irene was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother who enjoyed camping at the Huerfano, attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, vacations with her family, & traveling to conferences with the Housing Authority. She also enjoyed serving in the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary and the camaraderie with her fellow members. Irene will be greatly missed by all who know & love her.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul Sedillo Sr; children, Barbara (Dan) Strickland, Yvonne Barron, and, Paul (Lisa) Sedillo Jr.; grandchildren, Dalton Strickland, Noah Sedillo, Derrick Franco; brother, Oris (Vera) Cruz, in-laws, Don & Consuelo Sedillo; numerous nephews, nieces & Godchildren.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary, Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church in Walsenburg. Online condolences, www.angeluspueblo.com
