Isabell Montoya

Isabell Montoya, 81, passed away Nov. 9, 2023. She was born Sept. 13, 1942 in Dahlia, New Mexico to proud parents Serafin and Elsie (Duran) Lucero. Both precede her in death along with her granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Lopez.

She loved going fishing. Her and husband Augustine would go on their adventures to the different lakes. She also enjoyed cooking; you never left her home without eating something. Isabell was the matriarch of 4 generations. She loved her family; making sure everyone was taken care of. Sharing stories, her wisdom, life lessons and her love with each of them. Isabell loved God and had a strong faith, praying her rosary daily. She always said “God will guide me” and "Call me when you get home".

Isabell is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Augustine Montoya; children, Ninfa Montoya, Larry Montoya, Joyce (Jesus) Sanchez-Aguilar, Jerry Montoya and Terry Montoya; sister, Angie DeAragon; 11 grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren and other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. 

Rosary, 6 pm, Thurs., Nov. 16, 2023 at Angelus Chapel and Funeral Mass, 10 am, Fri., Nov. 17, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Internment Roselawn Cemetery.
