Janel Marie Amella

Our much-loved sister, daughter, mother, aunt, and dear friend, Janel Marie Amella, 59, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, left this world on December 2, 2025. Born in Pueblo, Colorado, on October 31, 1966, to Stephen and Maria Amella, Janel was a dynamic, beautiful, and delightfully mischievous soul. She was the kind of person who could make anything happen, doing so with fierce passion and an unwavering love for the people in her life.

Janel devoted her life to enriching the lives of others, inspiring everyone around her with her trailblazing spirit. She forged paths for many who aspired to grow and excel, leaving behind a legacy of empowerment, encouragement, and limitless possibility. Her unwavering kindness, generous heart, and bold determination will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Deeply complex and wonderfully layered, Janel was unforgettable. She possessed a strong, resilient spirit paired with a tender, compassionate heart especially when it came to animals, whom she loved with gentle devotion. Her kindness toward her friends and family never faltered. She supported everyone around her, uplifted those in need, and touched our lives in ways that will remain with us forever.

Janel is survived by her loving family: her parents, Stephen and Maria Amella; her sisters, Julie and Jenece; her cherished children, Bryan and Jayde (Gabriella); her grandchildren, Sophia and Asher; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and several dear friends who will carry her memory with them always. Her vibrant spirit, boundless love, and dedication to her loved ones will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

May her beautiful spirit rest in peace, and may we honor her memory by living with the same courage, compassion, and love she generously shared throughout her life.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in February 2026.
