Jesus Richard Cortez Jr.

Jesus Richard Cortez Jr., 86, passed away on Sept. 26, 2022.  He was born on Aug. 27, 1936 to parents Jesus and Consuelo (Arriola) Cortez Sr. who both precede him in death along with his loving wife of 58 years Betty (Lopez) Cortez; children Raymond, Roberta, Eddie, and Steve Cortez; siblings Jovita Cortez, Pete Cortez, Mary Valdez, Alice Solano, and Lucy Rodriguez.  Jesus was a hard worker, traveling the world for his different assignments, always taking his wife Betty wherever he went.  He and Betty were very faithful, attending church every Saturday.  He enjoyed the Broncos, win or lose, dancing with his wife, listening to Oldies music and reminiscing about the Good Old days.   He enjoyed caring for his yard and taking in the sun. His family was very important to him, especially his wife and grandchildren.  He was very proud of his 4 generations; Jesus loved his family dearly.  He and Betty opened their home to everyone, he loved the homecooked meals that she prepared, you never left hungry from their home.  Jesus is survived by his sons Richard Cortez and Robert (Yolanda) Cortez; 24 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law Bobbi Jo Cortez, Natalie Cortez and Francine Aragon; son-in-law Rich Mercado; siblings Rosie (Ron) Martinez, Jovita (Pete) Villagrana, Margaret Rios, Lena Amaro and Joe (Rose) Cortez; in-laws Dorothy Lucero and Allen (Diane) Lopez; relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.  Mass of Christian Burial is Wed.
